A pair of Maasai milk containers/gourds, consisting of one extra-large and one smaller gourd. The strap on the extra-large gourd is undone, and there is a crack on the gourd. Otherwise, both gourds are in good condition. These milk gourds are made from calabash, adorned with glass beads and leather.
Measurements are H 85 cm x W 10 cm, H 30 cm x W 13 cm.

This exquisite container or vessel, crafted by the Gurage people of Ethiopia, was designed for storing butter or spices. It is made of clay with a rattan base and a rattan lid, which is strapped with leather and closed with a cowrie shell.
