Embroided Blanket from Marsh Arabs (Ma’dan) South Iraq. A vintage marsh Arab wedding blanket from southern Iraq. It is hand embroidered by the Ma’dan women of the marshlands. It is made of narrow strips of hand-woven wool that are stitched together and decorated with bright colors and geometric patterns. The wedding blanket is a symbol of marriage bond. Some of the stitching are slightly worn out.
